About this position

Summary The Department of Counseling & School Psychology seeks to recruit a diverse pool of individuals who would be interested in serving as part-time Adjunct Faculty. In addition to the campus in Miami Shores, we have satellite sites throughout Florida and in the Bahamas. The Adjunct Faculty member will teach courses in the graduate programs at locations in Miami Shores, Off-Campus sites, and Online. Courses are delivered in several formats, including asynchronous/online, hybrid, and face-to-face. Level II clearance is required. Essential Functions Courses are delivered in several formats, including asynchronous/online, hybrid, and face-to-face, and terms are seven, 10, and 16 weeks in length (depending on program). Class times vary but are generally 3 hours each week on weekdays or Saturdays. Generally, graduate courses are offered 3 hours once a week (during the evening). Adjuncts are responsible for consulting with respective Program Directors in the development and execution of the course as well as additional responsibilities outlined in the faculty handbook. Qualifications/Requirements Master's degree required. Doctoral degree in the discipline of graduate teaching preferred for MS/EdS courses and required for PhD or EdD courses. Applied experience in the field is required. Prior college-level teaching experience with an adult student population is preferred. Please note – if teaching in a fully online modality, completion of Barry University’s Online Instructor training will be required. Level II clearance is required.
