Salary: $2440 (lecture)-$3340 (studio) per class, per term Location: Lakewood, Colorado Open Until Filled Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design invites applications for the position of part-time instructor of Art History. Responsibilities include teaching conducted over 8-week terms. The curriculum in art history serves RMCAD’s BFA degrees in Animation, Art Education, Fashion Design, Fine Arts, Game Art, Graphic Design, Illustration, Interior Design, and Photography. RMCAD has a comprehensive and strong curriculum in both the Foundations Department as well as the Liberal Arts Department. Primary Responsibilities: Teaching and Instructional Activities: the practice and art of teaching, including evaluation by students, supervisor(s), and self. Faculty must also comply with all administrative and classroom management policies, procedures and instructional deadlines. Facilitate meaningful learning of curriculum, competencies and proactively support all facets of an inclusive learning environment.Encourage a culture of learning that values mutual responsibility and respect, life-long learning, and ethics.Deliver instruction by establishing a classroom environment conducive to learning and student involvement as well as effectively planning and preparing for classes for student success.Hold regular, weekly office hours.Attend required training sessions and departmental meetings (additional compensation provided).Regularly record class attendance in Faculty Portal and submit midterm/final grades by the due date specified. Provide timely, periodic, and meaningful feedback to students on assignments and participation.Successfully complete online Faculty Certification Course, a two-week faculty online orientation and certification class administered through RMCAD’s Learning Management System. Required Qualifications: Graduate degree in relevant field. University-level teaching experience.Must reside in the greater Denver area.Evidence of exemplary student engagem
